Two Templeton funds may use more currency forward contracts as hedge

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Dec. 15 - The boards of trustees of the Templeton Emerging Markets Income Fund and the Templeton Global Income Fund have authorized each fund to modify its investment policy.

According to a new release, each fund may increase the use of currency forward contracts for hedging and investment purposes when the investment manager, San Mateo, Calif.-based Franklin Advisers, Inc., believes it is advisable to do so.

The funds' investment goals or other investment policies will remain the same.
