Teck Resources calls $84 million 3% notes, $130 million 8% notes

Morgantown, W.Va., June 5 – Teck Resources Ltd. said it issued a notice of redemption for all $84 million of its 3% notes due 2019 and all $130 million of its 8% notes due 2021.

Teck will redeem the notes on June 7 using cash on hand.

Interest expense savings resulting from the redemption are expected to be about $10 million per year, according to a press release.

Bank of New York Mellon Trust Co. is the trustee.

Based in Vancouver, B.C., Teck is a resource company focused on copper, steelmaking coal, zinc and energy.
