By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Feb. 3 – Talvivaara Mining Co. plc said the deadline for the finalization and approval of a detailed agreement regarding the sale of the company’s Sotkamo mining operations assets was extended until the Vaasa Administrative Court issues a decision on the Nuasjarvi discharge pipeline.

According to a news release, the court ruling on the pipeline will allow Terrafame Group Ltd. and subsidiary Terrafame Ltd and Winttal Ltd. to continue mining operations.

The sale agreement finalization and approval deadline was previously set for Feb. 3.

Talvivaara and the Terrafame entities signed a letter of intent, provisionally agreeing on the key terms and conditions for the sale.

Espoo, Finland-based Talvivaara Mining is a base metals producer with its primary focus on nickel and zinc.
