Sweden plans SEK 20 billion inaugural offering of green bonds in August

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., June 5 – Sweden intends to issue its first green bond in August, according to a press release.

The government’s debt office expects the issue size to be SEK 20 billion.

The ceiling for the volume is determined by the selection of green expenditures decided by the government, which total SEK 30 billion, according to the release.

The syndicated bond will be tied to green investments and projects and further strengthen Sweden’s environmental and climate work.
