Director reports 10.7% stake in Sun-Times Media

Charlotte, N.C., July 30 - Investors led by Polar Securities Inc. beneficially own 8,768,163 shares, or 10.7%, of Sun-Times Media Group, Inc. following a series of share purchases between March 31 and June 4, according to a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The investors paid a total of $5.63 million for the shares.

Following the initial investments, Polar Securities' Robert B. Poile was appointed to the Chicago-based newspaper company's board of directors, the filing said.
