Sun-Times hires adviser to assist in strategic review process

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 15 - Sun-Times Media Group, Inc. said it retained Lazard to assist the company in its review of strategic alternatives, which could include joint ventures, strategic partnerships or a sale of the company.

The company first announced it would consider alternatives on Feb. 4.

As previously reported, a board committee including Gordon Paris, Graham Savage and Raymond Seitz will oversee the evaluation process.

The Chicago-based newspaper company said reviewing strategic next steps is necessary to ensure the future of Sun-Times' publications and web sites, as well as to generate value for Sun-Times' shareholders.
