St. Jude Medical gets approvals for Tendril ST pacemaker lead

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 19 - St. Jude Medical, Inc. received Food and Drug Administration and European CE Mark approvals for its new pacemaker lead, Tendril ST model 1788.

Claimed to be one of the thinnest pacing leads on the market, Tendril ST uses low-profile, flat-wire technology to reduce the size of the outer coil and lead body making it easier to implant.

St. Jude Medical, based in St. Paul, Minn., is a medical device technology and services company.
