Sterling Bancorp shareholder Gamco sells shares, drops stake to 7.59%

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 24 - Sterling Bancorp investors led by Gamco Asset Management Inc. dropped their ownership to 7.59% with the sale of 68,600 shares.

The shares were sold between Sept. 29 and Nov. 23 at prices from $6.48 to $7.52 each, it was reported in a schedule 13D/A filed on Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Gamco and its affiliates beneficially own 1,374,235 shares of the New York bank holding company.
