S&P rates Aventine notes

Standard & Poor's said it assigned a B+ issue rating and 2 recovery rating to Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings Inc.'s $225 million senior secured notes.

At the same time, S&P said it placed its ratings on Aventine, including the B corporate credit rating, on CreditWatch with negative implications, subject to further review.

"The ratings on Aventine incorporate its business risk profile, which we describe as vulnerable, and its financial risk profile, which we describe as aggressive," said S&P credit analyst Mark Habib in a news release.
