Stant Parent secures exclusivity extension to build plan consensus

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 9 - Stant Parent Corp. obtained an extension to its exclusive periods for filing a plan of reorganization and soliciting votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive filing period was extended to Jan. 25 from Nov. 24 and the solicitation period to March 26 from Jan. 25.

According to the motion, Stant has negotiated the terms of a plan with its official committee of unsecured creditors, but it needs the extra time to build consensus around the plan from all constituents.

The company also cited the complexity of its bankruptcy case.

Stant, a Connersville, Ind.-based automotive fuel system and gas cap manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on July 27. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-12647.
