S&P affirms Standard Chartered Bank China

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed the AA- long-term and A-1+ short-term issuer credit ratings on Standard Chartered Bank (China) Ltd.

The outlook is stable.

S&P also affirmed the cnAAA/cnA-1+ Greater China regional scale ratings on the bank.

The ratings reflect a view that the bank remains a core subsidiary of Standard Chartered group, S&P said.

The agency said it expects the United Kingdom's banking sector regulator to allow the group holding company, Standard Chartered plc, to provide timely support to the China bank.

Standard Chartered Bank China's stand-alone credit profile is BBB-. The bank has an adequate business position, adequate capital and earnings, adequate risk position, average funding and adequate liquidity, the agency said.
