GS Finance plans leveraged buffered notes linked to S&P MidCap 400

Olympia, Wash., April 15 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered notes due Nov. 3, 2020 linked to the S&P MidCap 400 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus two times the index return, subject to a maximum payout of $1,174 per $1,000 principal amount.
Investors will receive par if the index declines by 10% or less and will lose 1% for every 1% that the index declines beyond 10%.
Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is the underwriter.
The notes will price on April 30.
The Cusip number is 40056FBX2.
