S&P announces new names for S&P/Investortools Municipal Bond Indices

By Tali David

Minneapolis, Sept. 15 - S&P Indices said that the S&P/Investortools Municipal Bond Indices family has been rebranded the S&P Municipal Bond Indices.

S&P said the change, which is effective immediately, allows the former S&P/Investortools Municipal Bond Indices to evolve alongside S&P Indices' family of widely followed municipal bond indices, which includes the S&P AMT-Free Municipal Series.

"Over the last 12 years the S&P Municipal Bond Indices have become an integral component of the work flow of municipal bond portfolio managers and analysts," said JR Rieger, vice president of fixed income indices at S&P Indices, in a news release.

"Investortools' extensive knowledge of the municipal bond market and commitment to these indices has played a critical role in allowing these indices to gain market acceptance and success. S&P Indices will continue to evolve this family of indices as the dynamics of the municipal bond marketplace continues to change."

S&P is a New York-based index provider.
