Barclays to price buffered Super Track notes linked to S&P GSCI index

Tacoma, Wash., July 23 - Barclays Bank plc plans to price 0% buffered Super Track notes due Aug. 14, 2012 linked to S&P GSCI Excess Return index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain, subject to a maximum return of 34% to 44% that will be set at pricing. Investors will receive par if the index declines by 15% or less and will lose 1% for every 1% that it declines beyond 15%.
The notes (Cusip 06740PHC3) will price Aug. 9 and settle Aug. 12.
