New Issue: Barclays prices $501,000 of phoenix autocallables on Russell, oil ETF

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., July 7 – Barclays Bank plc priced $501,000 of phoenix autocallable notes due June 25, 2019 linked to the lesser performing of the Russell 2000 index and the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Each quarter, the notes will pay a contingent coupon at the rate of 7.25% per year if each underlying closes at or above its coupon barrier level, 70% of its initial level, on the observation date for that quarter. Otherwise, no coupon will be paid for that quarter.

The notes will be called at par plus the contingent coupon if each underlying closes at or above its initial level on any quarterly observation date prior to the final one, beginning on Dec. 20, 2017.

The payout at maturity will be par plus the final contingent coupon, if any, unless either underlying finishes below its barrier level of 60% of its initial level, in which case investors will lose 1% for each 1% decline of the least performing underlying.
