New Issue: RBC prices $4.51 million trigger autocallables linked to EM, S&P ETFs

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., July 16 – Royal Bank of Canada priced $4.51 million of trigger autocallable contingent yield notes due July 15, 2022 linked to the lesser performing of the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets exchange-traded fund and the SPDR S&P 500 ETF trust, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Each quarter, the notes pay a contingent coupon at an annual rate of 9.15% if each ETF closes at or above its downside threshold, 70% of its initial share price, on the observation date for that quarter.

After six months, the notes will be automatically called at par of $10 if each ETF closes at or above its initial share price on any quarterly observation date prior to the final valuation date.

The payout at maturity will be par unless either ETF finishes below its downside threshold, in which case investors will be exposed to the decline of the lesser-performing ETF from its initial share price.

UBS Financial Services Inc. and RBC Capital Markets LLC are the underwriters.
