By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 30 - Spartan Motors, Inc. amended its Nov. 30, 2009 note purchase and private shelf agreement with Prudential Investment Management, Inc. and certain of its affiliates, according to a form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.

The amendment extends the period during which shelf notes may be issued under the agreement through Nov. 30, 2015.

It also increases the total amount of the established uncommitted shelf facility under which, from time to time, Prudential will consider one or more requests to purchase additional senior notes from Spartan to $50 million.

Spartan Motors designs, engineers and manufactures specialty chassis, specialty vehicles, truck bodies and aftermarket parts for the recreational vehicle, emergency response, government services, defense, and delivery and service markets. The company is based in Louisville, Ky.
