Spansion granted second exclusivity extension to develop plan

By Alice Popovici

New York, Oct. 27 - Spansion Inc. received a second extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period will be extended to Jan. 30, and the solicitation period will be extended "without prejudice to the [company] requesting further such extensions at a later date," according to the filing.

Spansion, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based maker of flash memory products, filed for bankruptcy on March 1, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10690.
