HSBC plans leveraged buffered uncapped notes on S&P 500 Low Volatility

Chicago, Sept. 30 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered uncapped market participation securities due Oct. 30, 2018 linked to the S&P 500 Low Volatility index, according to an FWP with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 125% to 135% of any index gain. The exact participation rate will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 20% and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond 20%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes will price on Oct. 25 and settle on Oct. 30.

The Cusip number is 40432XLW9.
