HSBC plans to price buffered AMPS due 2021 linked to S&P 500 index

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 10 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due Nov. 5, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus double any index gain, up to a maximum return of at least 25%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 15% and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond 15%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes will price on Oct. 31 and settle on Nov. 5.

The Cusip number is 40435F5T0.
