New Issue: GS Finance prices $1.1 million contingent coupon autocallables linked to S&P, Russell

By Wendy Van Sickle

Columbus, Ohio, Aug. 30 – GS Finance Corp. priced $1.1 million of autocallable contingent coupon notes due March 7, 2019 linked to the S&P 500 index and the Russell 2000 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

Each quarter, the notes pay a contingent coupon at an annual rate of 5.5% if each index closes at or above its barrier level, 70% of its initial level, on the observation date for that period.

The notes will be called at par on any coupon payment date if each index closes above its initial level after six months.

The payout at maturity will be par plus the final coupon, if any, unless either index finishes below its initial level and either index closes below 70% of its initial level any day during the life of the notes, in which case investors will be fully exposed to the loss of the lesser-performing index.
