GS Finance plans five-year leveraged notes linked to S&P 500

Morgantown, W.Va., March 23 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged notes due March 31, 2022 tied to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index return is zero or positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 1.14 to 1.17 times the index return.
If the index falls by up to 30%, the payout will be par plus the absolute value of the index return.
If the index falls by more than 30%, investors will be fully exposed to the index decline.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
The notes will price March 24.
The Cusip number is 40054L2X1.
