Citigroup plans five-year buffered notes with cap linked to S&P 500

Chicago, Feb. 4 – Citigroup Inc. plans to price 0% buffer securities due March 1, 2021 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to the buffer and will be exposed to any losses beyond the buffer, which will be 22% to 27% with the exact percentage to be set at pricing.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. is the underwriter.

The notes will price on Feb. 24.

The Cusip number is 17298C7A0.
