New Issue: Barclays prices $2.12 million one-year buffered notes tied to S&P 500

Chicago, March 8 - Barclays Bank plc priced $2.12 million of 0% buffered notes due April 11, 2013 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus any gain in the index, up to a maximum return of 14.5%.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 15% and will lose 1.1764% for every 1% decline beyond 15%.
Barclays Capital Inc. is the agent with JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC as dealers.
