RBC redeems $28.19 million of Stars due 2012 linked to S&P 500

Madison, Wis., Feb. 28 - Royal Bank of Canada said it redeemed all $28,192,200 of its outstanding Strategic Accelerated Redemption Securities due Sept. 10, 2012 linked to the S&P 500 index.

The securities (Cusip: 78009M710) were redeemed on Feb. 28 at par plus an annualized call premium of 13.5%.
