Morgan Stanley to price buffered PLUS linked to index, two ETFs

Tacoma, Wash., Aug. 16 - Morgan Stanley plans to price 0% buffered Performance Leveraged Upside Securities due August 2014 linked to a basket of an index and two exchange-traded funds, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The basket includes the S&P 500 index with a 50% weight, the iShares MSCI EAFE index fund with a 30% weight and the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets index fund with a 20% weight.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 166% of any increase in the basket. Investors will receive par if the basket declines by 10% or less and will lose 1.1111% for every 1% that it declines beyond 10%.

The notes (Cusip: 617482XH2) will price and settle in August.
