New Issue: SolarCity sells $299,000 of solar bonds through Incapital

Charlotte, N.C., April 6 – SolarCity Corp. issued a series of solar bonds totaling $299, 000 through Incapital LLC. The bonds were offered from March 23 through March 30, according to a form 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The bonds were issued as:

• $95,000 of 1.6 % solar bonds, series 2015/C11-1, due April 2, 2016;

• $165,000 of 2.65% solar bonds, series 2015/C12-3, due April 2, 2018;

• $24,000 of 3.6% solar bonds, series 2015/C13-5, due April 2, 2020; and

• $15,000 of 4.7% solar bonds, series 2015/C14-10, due April 2, 2025.

As previously reported, interest on all the bonds will be paid semiannually in arrears on Feb. 15 and Aug. 15, beginning on Aug. 15.

Proceeds will be used for working capital and other general corporate purposes, including the financing of additional solar installations and/or financing potential acquisitions and strategic transactions, a prior SEC filing stated.

San Mateo, Calif.-based SolarCity provides clean energy and financial products based on clean energy.
