San Diego, March 13 - GE Institutional Funds announced a portfolio management change to its Small-Cap Equity Fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Effective March 7, Marc Shapiro is a portfolio manager for the assets of the fund that are allocated to subadviser Palisade Capital Management, LLC, replacing Jeffrey Schwartz.

Shapiro joins David Wiederecht, Scott T. Brayman, Robert J. Anslow, Michael W. Cook and Frank Latuda, Jr. in managing the fund.

Shapiro joined Palisade in 2004 and was an associate portfolio manager, portfolio manager and senior vice president of research for various funds and strategies. Prior to Palisade, Shapiro was a portfolio manager/analyst at Awad Asset Management and a small-cap analyst at Schroders.

The fund's investment adviser is Stamford, Conn.-based GE Asset Management Inc.
