S&P changes Slovenia outlook

S&P said it revised its outlook on Slovenia to positive from stable.

At the same time, the agency affirmed the A+/A-1 long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Slovenia.

S&P said the positive outlook reflects Slovenia's robust growth dynamics, which are showing no signs of overheating the domestic economy.

The agency said the ratings on Slovenia are supported by high and increasing per capita income levels and its strong external performance, with current account surpluses over S&P’s forecast horizon.

“Eurozone membership is also a positive because it allows Slovenia to benefit from the credibility of the European Central Bank's monetary policy and access to deep and developed capital markets,” S&P said in a news release.
