Aurora Oil & Gas' exclusive plan-filing period extended to Dec. 9

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 6 - Aurora Oil & Gas Corp. received a 30-day extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Dec. 9 from Nov. 9 and the solicitation period to Feb. 8 from Jan. 8.

The company said it has been making progress since beginning the Chapter 11 cases three months ago, obtaining permission to use cash collateral, preparing statements of financial affairs and addressing other issues, but a short extension is needed "to work diligently and expeditiously toward a final resolution in these cases."

Aurora, a Traverse City, Mich.-based independent energy company, filed for bankruptcy on July 12. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-08254.
