S&P affirms Singapore

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed the Republic of Singapore's AAA long-term and A-1+ short-term sovereign credit ratings and its axAAA long-term and axA-1+ short-term ASEAN scale credit ratings. The transfer and convertibility assessment remains AAA.

The outlook is stable.

The agency said the ratings on Singapore are underpinned by the sovereign's extensive fiscal and external strengths and its solid record of prudent macroeconomic management.

At the same time, the ratings take into account the challenges the country faces as a small and open economy, S&P said.
