Silicon Graphics posts $24.96 million June operating income

Pittsburgh, Aug. 4 - Silicon Graphics, Inc. posted a $24.96 million operating income for June on $75.8 million in revenues, according to a Friday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures show improvement from a $10.18 million May operating loss on $32.97 million in revenues.

The net income for June was $17.56 million, up from an $11.61 million May net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents on June 30 were $53.35 million, compared with $52.62 million at the end of May.

Silicon Graphics, a Mountain View, Calif., technology provider, filed for bankruptcy on May 29 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The company's Chapter 11 case number is 06-10977.
