Shamrock promotes Dennis Johnson to managing director of Shamrock Value Activist Fund

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., July 2 - Shamrock Capital Advisors, Inc. announced in a press release that Dennis Johnson will become managing director of the Shamrock Value Activist Fund, LP, effective Aug. 1.

Johnson has worked three years as Shamrock's director of corporate governance for CalPERS, an office that oversees a $7 billion corporate governance investment program and manages the Focus List program, governance policy development and corporate engagement programs.

Johnson replaces Michael McConnell, who decided to leave Shamrock last December.

"[Johnson] brings diverse and significant management expertise to Shamrock which will help achieve the goals and objectives of our $1 billion Activist Fund," Shamrock president Stanley P. Gold said in the release.

Based in Burbank, Calif., the Shamrock Activist Value Fund was formed in 2004 to make equity investments in small-cap, publicly traded companies.
