SFBC continues to operate Miami facility, will make required improvements

By Lisa Kerner

Erie, Pa., Jan. 19 - SFBC International, Inc. said the Miami-Dade County Unsafe Structures Board accepted an agreed recommendation submitted by SFBC and a building department official at a hearing on Jan. 18 that will allow the company to make improvements to its Miami facility, according to a company news release.

The hearing was in regard to SFBC's Miami facility located on Biscayne Blvd. SFBC will continue to operate the facility and will make required improvements to it once a building permit is issued, the company said.

Prior to the hearing, SFBC submitted a building application plan to Miami-Dade County for structural improvements to its facility.

A formal written decision is expected from the Unsafe Structures Board by Jan. 25. SFBC will then have 90 days to obtain a building permit. During that time, SFBC will be required to make adjustments to the submitted plans based upon comments from the county.

SFBC will have 180 days from issuance of the permit in which to complete all necessary improvements.

SFBC International provides early and late-stage clinical drug development services to branded pharmaceutical, biotechnology, generic drug and medical device companies. The company has its headquarters in Princeton, N.J.
