Sentinel Sustainable Growth Opportunities Fund changes name, strategy

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, March 15 - The Sentinel Sustainable Growth Opportunities Fund reported some upcoming changes to its portfolio management team, fund name, investment strategies and benchmark indexes in a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Effective March 29, the fund will be called the Sentinel Sustainable Mid Cap Opportunities Fund.

At that time, the fund will modify its investment strategies to increase to 80% from 65% the amount of net assets that are invested under normal circumstances in mid-capitalization companies. The definition of mid-capitalization will also be modified to include companies with market caps between $500 million and $25 billion.

The portfolio managers will be Betsy Pecor, Carole Hersam and Matthew Spitznagle. The previous managers were Elizabeth R. Bramwell, who retires from Sentinel on March 31, and Kelli K. Hill.

Additionally, the fund will compare its performance to the Russell Midcap index and the Standard & Poor's MidCap 400 index rather than the fund's current benchmark, the Russell Midcap Growth index.

Montpelier, Vt.-based Sentinel Asset Management, Inc. is the fund's investment adviser.
