By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Sept. 8 - AT&T Mobility LLC has issued a call to fully redeem its 6.5% notes due Dec. 15, 2011 and its 7.3% senior notes due Nov. 15, 2011, according to an 8-K filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company expects to pay $2.328 billion for the redemptions, which includes $2.25 billion principal amount, $60 million of accrued interest and an $18 million call premium.

The 6.5% notes will be redeemed on Oct. 7, with the redemption amount determined on Oct. 4.

The 7.3% notes will be redeemed on Oct. 11, with the redemption amount determined on Oct. 5.

AT&T expects the redemption to result in a pre-tax gain of about $1 million for its fourth-quarter 2011 financial results. The redemption will be funded with cash on hand.

The communications company, formerly known as Cingular Wireless LLC, is a subsidiary of Dallas-based AT&T Inc.
