Seattle plans $155.18 million municipal light and power revenue bonds

New York, Jan. 6 – The City of Seattle is set to price $155,175,000 of series 2016 municipal light and power revenue bonds on Jan. 13, according to a preliminary official statement.
The offering includes $32 million of series 2016A taxable new clean renewable energy bonds and $123,175,000 of series 2016B refunding revenue bonds.
The bonds (Aa2/AA/) will be sold competitively with Piper Jaffray & Co. as the financial adviser.
The 2016A bonds are due 2036 to 2041, and the 2016B bonds are due 2016 to 2029.
Proceeds will be used to finance capital improvements to the city’s light system, as well as to refund existing debt.
