S&P gives AA- to Sarasota, Fla., school board COPs

Standard & Poor's said it assigned an AA- rating to the Sarasota County School Board, Fla.'s $89.5 million series 2008 certificates of participation (COPs).

The certificates are due July 1, 2023.

The board will use proceeds to finance the acquisition, construction and lease-purchase for phase I of a new elementary school and phases 1A and II of the partial replacement of the Sarasota County Technical Institute.
