Santarus files $75 million shelf

Washington, May 12 - Santarus, Inc. filed a $75 million shelf in an S-3 registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The filing allows the company to issue common and preferred stock, debt securities and convertibles.

The San Diego-based wire and pharmaceutical company said offerings authorized by the shelf would be used to support sales and marketing relating to Zegerid Powder for Oral Suspension and the anticipated commercialization of Zegerid Capsules and Zegerid Chewable Tablets, to fund research and development activities and to fund other working capital and general corporate purposes.
