Atmos Energy to issue $350 million of notes to refinance 5.125% notes

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Nov. 22 - Atmos Energy Corp. plans to refinance its $250 million of 5.125% senior notes due January 2013 through the issuance of $350 million of 30-year unsecured notes, according to its 10-K report for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30.

The report was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

The company said it entered into three Treasury lock agreements in August to fix the Treasury yield component of the interest cost associated with the anticipated issuances of these senior notes. All of these Treasury locks were designated as cash flow hedges.

Atmos Energy distributes, transmits and stores natural gas and is based in Dallas.
