Fitch affirms Atmos Energy

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed Atmos Energy Corp.'s long-term issuer default rating at BBB, senior unsecured debt at BBB+ and short-term issuer default rating and commercial paper at F2.

The outlook was revised to positive from stable.

The ratings are supported by the consistent financial and operational performance and low-risk nature of Atmos' large and geographically diverse regulated operations, Fitch said.

The agency noted that Atmos has been effective in managing the regulatory process throughout its multi-state natural gas distribution service territory.
