San Bernardino and firefighters union agree to non-binding mediation

Pittsburgh, Nov. 21 - The City of San Bernardino, Calif., has agreed to enter non-binding mediation with the San Bernardino City Professional Firefighters Local 891, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

The parties agreed to the mediation "in order to facilitate a prompt resolution of the disputes between the city and the SBCPF and to prevent additional strain on scarce judicial resources."

Judge Scott C. Clarkson will serve as mediator.

San Bernardino filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 1. The Chapter 9 case number is 12-28006.
