Samson granted approval of new $2.75 million sale of business aircraft

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Sept. 20 – Samson Resources Corp. obtained court approval of the $2.75 million sale of a business airplane to BE Aviation, LLC, according to an order filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

As previously reported, Samson originally entered an agreement to sell the aircraft to Avpro, Inc. for $2.9 million. However, Avpro decided not to move forward with the purchase after an inspection of the airplane.

Samson said the new buyer was given an opportunity to review the inspection report and test the plane before executing the purchase agreement. As a result, BE Aviation can no longer reject the aircraft.

Based in Tulsa, Okla., Samson is the largest privately held crude oil and natural gas company in the United States. The company filed for bankruptcy Sept. 16, 2015 under Chapter 11 case number 15-11934.
