New Issue: Atlas Air issues $143 million 1.825% 12-year notes to refinance loan

Madison, Wis., May 30 - Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. issued $143 million of 1.825% notes to refinance a $143 million variable-rate loan. The 12-year notes were issued on May 28, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are guaranteed by the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

The company obtained the $143 million loan on May 16 under its $864.8 million term loan facility dated Jan. 30, 2012 with Apple Bank for Savings. The facility is also guaranteed by the Export-Import Bank.

The facility is to consist of up to six separate term loans, each secured by a mortgage on a 747-8F aircraft. Five term loans totaling roughly $713.7 million have been completed, and the previous four term loans were also refinanced through bond issues, the filing noted.

Atlas Air is a Purchase, N.Y., provider of air cargo and related services worldwide.
