HSBC intends to price buffered AMPS linked to Russell 2000

Chicago, Feb. 27 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due March 5, 2021 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to an FWP filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the fund increases, the payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of the return, subject to a maximum payout of at least 19.9%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

If the fund falls by up to 10%, the payout at maturity will be par.

Investors will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 10%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes (Cusip: 40435UFJ8) will price on Feb. 28 and settle on March 5.
