GS Finance to price leveraged buffered notes tied to Russell 2000

Morgantown, W.Va., Oct. 5 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% leveraged buffered index-linked notes due Oct. 15, 2019 tied to the Russell 2000 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of the index gain, subject to a maximum return of 14.6%. Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and lose 1% for every 1% decline in the index beyond 10%.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.

The notes will price Oct. 6.

The Cusip number is 40054LWT7.
