HSBC plans 2.5-year buffered AMPS with 24% cap tied to Russell 2000

Chicago, Dec. 6 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered accelerated market participation securities due June 28, 2019 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus double any index gain, up to a maximum return of at least 24%.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond the 10% buffer.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes will price on Dec. 21 and settle on Dec. 27.

The Cusip number is 40433UC87.
