New Issue: Barclays prices $7.34 million phoenix autocallables linked to S&P, Russell

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Oct. 7 – Barclays Bank plc priced $7.34 million of phoenix autocallable notes due Oct. 11, 2018 linked to the lesser performing of the Russell 2000 index and the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Every six months, the notes will pay a contingent coupon at the rate of 10% per year if each index closes at or above the coupon barrier level, 85% of the initial index level, on the observation date for that semiannual period. Otherwise, no coupon will be paid for that semiannual period.

The notes will be automatically called at par plus the contingent coupon if the indexes close at or above their initial index levels on any observation date other than the final one.

If the notes are not called and each index finishes at or above its barrier level, 70% of its initial level, the payout at maturity will be par plus the contingent coupon, if applicable. Otherwise, investors will lose 1% for every 1% that the final level of the lesser-performing index is less than its initial level.

Barclays is the agent.
