Goldman plans two-year leveraged buffered notes tied to Russell 2000

Chicago, Oct. 5 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price leveraged buffered notes due in 24 months linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus double any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,227 to $1,267 for each $1,000 par amount. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond 10%.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
The Cusip number is 40054KLV6.
