GS Finance plans leveraged buffered notes linked to Russell 2000

Tacoma, Wash., Sept. 6 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price two-year 0% leveraged buffered notes linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes will be guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
If the index return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of the index return, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $1,230 to $1,270 per $1,000 principal amount of notes. Investors will receive par if the index declines by 10% or less and will lose 1.1111% for every 1% that the index declines beyond 10%.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter
The Cusip number is 40054KJW7.
